The Root of the Problem

      Medical debt has been one of the issues we have dealt with throughout our marriage. I was talking with our assistant pastor and wife about this on yesterday during a class at church, and started thinking about all the doctors I've seen over the years, referrals to specialist, test after test, labs and more labs, etc. , and the fact that in all that time only the symptoms have been treated NOT the source of the problem. Sounds crazy right, but that's what often happens even in our spiritual walk with Christ. We treat the symptoms such as addictions, immodest dress, certain behaviors or attitudes, but fail to address the true source of the problem. A person's spiritual problems results in sin and ultimately death if not forsaken, but do you know it's cause? It is a HEART condition. Matthew 15:19 For out of the heart proceed evil... Stop treating the symptoms, and focus on the source. David cried out, "Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.", and we should do likewise. Problems with the heart can be life threatening, but the bible gives one way to treat it. Psalm 119:11 Thy word have I hid in my heart, that I might not sin against thee. Study the word, hide it in your heart, and obey it so that you might live life more abundantly. Allow Dr. Jesus to come in and do surgery on you, and he will remove your stony heart and give you a heart of flesh. The best part of all is that it is free, NO CHARGE, because he already paid the price at the cross!! The Lord gave me the words to a song I titled "Hem of His Garment" years ago, and I encourage you on today to reach out to God like the woman with the issue of blood and be made whole. He's a doctor that will never give the wrong prognosis for your problem!
